Bison Pumps Deep Well Pump Systems that require 1” NPT pipe must have the pump head water inlet reduced from 1 1/4” to 1” NPT. This is accomplished with the Stainless Steel 1 1/4” to 1” NPT Reducer Bushing Kit. The kit includes not only a bushing that downsizes the thread size from 1 1/4” to 1” NPT, but it also contains a short Lift Rod extension and hex nut. When the reducer bushing is attached to the bottom of the water inlet nipple, it effectively extends the length of the pump body. Therefore, the stroke of the pump system will be impacted unless the extra pump body length is accounted for. The short Lift Rod extension is the solution to this issue.
Once the Reducer Bushing and Lift Rod Extension are installed all pump installation procedures are the same as normal.
