The Bison Pumps Heavy Duty Pump Head is designed to be used for wells with a static water level greater than 250 feet or pumps with anticipated high rates of usage such as parks or other public situations. It can be added to most of the deep well pump systems.
The Heavy Duty Pump Head option is an enhanced version of the standard pump head.
- We added brass bushings to the handle linkage system to provide extra wear.
- Normally a standard pump head has 1/4 inch thick plates we call links that connect the handle to the pump body. The Heavy Duty Pump Head uses a solid piece of stainless steel to provide more durability and strength.
- To accommodate the improved link, we changed the ear from two 1/4 inch plates to one solid piece of stainless steel.
- Heavy Duty Pump Head installations where the static water level is deep have a lot of weight being lifted. We reinforced the connection of the pump body to the well adapter to address that increased strain on the pump head.
The combination of these changes enhances the pump head’s moving parts to allow it to lift more weight at the deeper water depths. The addition of the brass bushings provides longer lasting wear of the shoulder bolts that hold the linkage system together.
Bison Pumps offers two Heavy Duty Handles that can work with the enhanced pump head.
Standard Handle
The Standard Handle is designed to be used for wells with anticipated high rates of usage such as parks and other public installations. This handle is intended for wells with a static water level less than 250 feet. It can be added to any of the deep well pump systems. The handle is the same one this is on standard pump heads but modified to accept the brass bushings included in the enhanced link system on the pump head. The combination of the changes to the pump head and the handle’s brass bushings provides longer lasting wear of the shoulder bolts that hold the linkage system together.
T Handle
The Bison Pumps Deep Well Heavy Duty Pump Head and T Handle are designed to be used for wells with a static water level greater than 250 feet. The handle comes with a T attachment on the end and is longer than the standard handle. The T handle makes it easier to apply downward pressure as well as to provide room for two people to pump at once. The combination of the enhanced pump head and T handle allow it to lift more weight at the deeper water depths. The addition of the brass bushings provides longer lasting wear and smoother operation of the shoulder bolts that hold the linkage system together.
