To help identify the appropriate maintenance kit, review the pump head area around where the Lift Rod enters/exits the body (Top Hex Plate Gland Nut Cavity).
The pump heads manufactured during this period have the following characteristics:
- A brass Packing Gland Nut in early versions or a Delrin Gland Nut in later versions.
- Packing Gland Cup Seal instead of Teflon Rope – this is the primary change to this pump head version.
The handle / lift rod area manufactured during this period will have one of the following characteristics:
- In early versions, the Lift Rod is threaded into the Rod Connector and is held in place with a Set Screw.
- In later versions, the Lift Rod is pressed into the Rod Connector and secured by a Roll Pin.
Both items, Set Screw and Roll Pin, are included in this kit.
With this kit you will be able to replace most wear items to keep your Bison Pump running strong!
