For the drain back feature to work properly, the Model 1900 Stainless Steel Pitcher Pump with Drain Back Feature needs to be installed with a Drain Back Water Shut-off Valve and Drain Valve in the incoming water line to the pump. Bison Pumps offers this as an option when purchasing the Model 1900 Stainless Steel Pitcher Pump with Drain Back Feature.
The top of the Drain Back Water Shut-off Valve and Drain Valve threads into the reducing bushing on the bottom of the Model 1900 Pump. The bottom connects to the incoming water line. Bison Pumps offers the reducing bushing needed: see 2” to 1” NPT 316 Stainless Steel Reducing Bushing.
The drain valve is located between the shut-off valve and the pump water inlet. With the shut-off valve closed and the drain valve opened, water can drain from the pump and out the drain valve. The drain valve has an outlet for a hose attachment if desired. This makes for a clean and easy draining process.
Note: To restore operation of the Model 1900 pump be sure to open the shut-off valve and close the drain valve.
